Breast and Chest Tune Up: Regenerative Self-Massage

Thursday, December 8, 2022 - 10:00am to 11:00am
More than 300,000 breast surgeries are performed in the US every year, removal, augmentation, and explant surgeries all come with scar tissue challenges. Additionally port insertion and removal can leave lingering scars, sensitivity or numbness. Heart or lung related chest surgeries may also leave a legacy of modified fascial tissues and agglomerations that can inhibit movement, body sense and alter biomechanics. This class provides a simple self-massage application to improve intra-tissue mobility, range of motion, better breathing and a whole body relaxation response to support continued healing and thriving.

Props used for this class: Two Coregeous Balls (or rolled up yoga mat), ALPHA Ball, ALPHA Twins, YTU Therapy Ball, Wall, Block

In the next phase of MOVE, BREATHE, ROLL, Jill focuses on common myths and misperceptions of practice that still persist in yoga and movement classrooms today. Each class tackles a myth that unrolls like a sticky mat when you filter it through anatomy, kinesiology and physiology. Join Jill on this fun myth-busting journey that also translates into other popular movement forms including pilates, CrossFit and Instagram Inspo. Each class will attempt to unpack a myth from a historical/contextual lens and take you through Tune Up Fitness movement practices that help your body to be a lab of curiosity, discovery and mirth.
