Breath is the yogi’s true measure of advancement. This class gives you a felt sense of the tissues that build it — most notably, the respiratory diaphragm. Master this muscle’s movements. Using gut massage with balls, corrective exercise, and novel poses, Yogis will learn to differentiate and coordinate breathing muscles which also govern postures. We’ll work the entire body but the emphasis is on total abdominal/thorasic awareness. Simple. Not gentle. (No eating two hours before). All levels welcome. Class ends with transportive relaxation and concentration practice (dharana). Once a month on the new moon: emphasis on deep gutt massage and dynamic diaphragm stretching.
