FAQ’s

Question Are there any requirements for taking the Yoga Tune Up® Certification Training?
AnswerThere are no prerequisites for taking this training, however, trainees should have a sincere interest in the body and a long history of some form of physical practice (such as Yoga, Pilates, Dance, Martial Arts, Personal Training, Massage Therapy Practitioner, etc.). This training will deepen your understanding of the body, biomechanics and give you tools towards stepping into the role of a teacher if that is your goal, or simply deepen your knowledge as a student or practitioner of any physical movement practice.
Question I’m a (fitness professional / clinician / massage therapist), but I don’t teach yoga, how will this training help me?
AnswerThis training is not exclusive to yoga professionals. It is an inter-professional training that helps movement and clinical pros to review and utilize anatomical and kinesiological terms while learning best practices that apply to interdisciplinary movement classes and practices. The term “yoga” is used within “Yoga Tune Up®” as the course utilizes some of the cardinal shapes of yoga postures as an organizing principle to highlight anatomy. The term yoga also allows this course to include down-regulation practices within the context of movement.

For non-yoga professionals, this training also provides insight into the challenges that “yoga-only” professionals encounter when they are under-educated in anatomy, physiology and kinesiology.

Question I am not a Fitness Pro or Clinician, is this Training right for me?
AnswerMany students of the Teacher Training take the training to further enhance their knowledge of anatomy, physiology and body movement and not to teach Yoga Tune Up® and this is welcomed.
Question Am I a Certified YTU Teacher after completing the Training?
AnswerUpon completion of the training, you have received advanced training on biomechanics and physiology and we encourage you to bring that learning to your existing practice or teaching. While you will receive a Certificate of Completion, only once you have passed the final written exam and paid the initial $125 license fee will you become a Certified YTU Teacher. Please see “Benefits of Certification” above.
Question Will the training qualify me to teach Yoga Tune Up® classes and workshops?
AnswerOnce you’ve submitted your final exam and completed your licensing you will be able to lead Yoga Tune Up® branded classes and workshops. You’ll also have a searchable profile on the Tune Up Fitness site that identifies you as a certified Yoga Tune Up® Teacher along with listing your classes, workshops and specialties in your profile.
