Ellen has has a life time experience in various forms of dance, movement and sports and has been teaching Yoga since 2001. She has done her yoga teacher training in Iyengar Yoga, Power Yoga and Shiva Rea’s Prana Flow. Curious how to train your core and not being satisfied by the Bandha concept and the cue “pulling the navel into the spine” she found in Pilates a missing link and she started to study Pilates. Ellen has been teaching Pilates since 2004. She holds certifications from Power Pilates in New York, Comprehensive certification with Peak Pilates and a comprehensive education with Polestar Pilates with whom she now studies at the mentor level. Ellen incorporates the variety of field of knowledge from dance (she danced professionally for 13 years), Pilates, yoga, meditation and psychology into her teaching and recently became a certified Yoga Tune Up® teacher. The Yoga Tune Up® approach works both to her yoga and Pilates classes. Exploring the body via proprioception, learning the “nuts and bolts” of human movement and anatomy in order to give her clients a better understanding of the exercises and to take responsibility about their own body and wellness.
