Post Athletic Stretch is a program of 6 classes that helps you enhance your physical recovery from the stress and strain of athletic training. There is one warm up class and 5 sport specific recovery routines designed to balance out the unique biomechanical demands of each sport. The primary moves in these programs will mobilize all of the major joints in your body to reduce the risk of injury after running, cycling, swimming, golf and tennis.
Athletic activities usually involve a lot of repetition, sometimes biased to one side. These programs help to bring balance back to your Whole Body and press the reset button, so you can play again another day. The movements and poses can help to unbind tension around your spine, lengthen your muscles and fascia, flush out metabolic waste and refresh circulation throughout your body.
There is an 11 minute warm up sequence that includes dynamic stretches to bring circulation and energy into all the major muscles and joints of your body. This sequence is a great way to prepare yourself before beginning any physical activity.
Most of these classes are performed on a mat or at a wall with a yoga block and a strap.
