This is a hips focused class. The movements and exercises in this lesson will move your hips around your spine in almost every conceivable range of motion and help you find skill and strength.
Some of the actions in this class are slow and isometric, and some offer more dynamic motion. These shifts in strategy help train your body to summon the spring-like qualities of connective tissues that help your body remain elastic yet strong.
The early part of class offers variations on the triangle pose that help you explore the shape and quality of your hip socket with the thoughtful use of blocks. As the class progresses, your capacity is challenged through plenty of strength building backbends.
