Hamstring tightness can come from many different causes. Whatever the reason your hamstrings are telling you they are stiff, rolling can improve the ability of your hamstrings to lengthen, strengthen, and ultimately find a resting tone that isn’t aggravating your senses.

The “cure” for hamstring *tightness is NOT a rollout. Let’s get that out of the way.
The perception of hamstring tightness can come from many different causes: 1) weak hamstrings, 2) hamstrings that are encased in fascia with poor gliding, 3) neurological tension, 4) overuse from too much stretching, 5) underuse from chronic sitting. Whatever the reason your hamstrings are telling you they are stiff, rolling can improve the ability of your hamstrings to more effectively lengthen, strengthen, and ultimately find a resting tone that isn’t aggravating your senses.
