This massage is a gentle introduction and massage treatment to your own pelvic floor anatomy. You will use the Coregeous® ball and / or a Yoga Tune Up® therapy ball at the basin of your pelvis to touch, breath and move the pelvic floor muscles.
Your pelvic floor is like a soft tissue hammock at the bottom of your pelvis. On top of this hammock rests your uterus and all of your abdominal organs. If you are not getting a C section, this is the doorway for baby to enter the world. Even if you are having a scheduled delivery, this basket of muscles is critical for gestation and beyond to maintain health, body comfort and capacity for movement.
The presence of the ball alone helps your body sense and perceive your pelvic floor as you breathe and move.
Treating these tissues with massage helps your mind-body connection improve so your tissues can find and maintain their elasticity, prepare you for delivery and minimize the effects scar tissue may have on your mobility.
