Triangle – You’re So Much More Than 3 Sides

The classic triangle pose sort of resembles a triangle. But, try as you might, your natural curves and joint ranges likely don’t etch the edges and angles pictured in a glyph of the pose. Let’s honor our curves and bone shapes and use this class to make our way there in a circuitous route.

Three vertices shape a triangle, but you are so many more angles than three. The classic Triangle pose resembles a triangle, sort of. But, try as you might, it’s unlikely that your natural joints ranges and body’s curves etch the edges and outline the angles pictured in a glyph of the pose. Let’s honor our curvy body and bones in this class and round our way towards triangle.

After doing the TRIANGLE class, we recommend you also do the following class from the Library:

  • Pelvic Floor & More

The reason I’m pairing this replay class with the new TRIANGLE Class is that your hips and pelvis surround an inner sanctuary of myofascial structures that are often overlooked in the realm of performance. In plain language, it’s challenging to find YOUR optimal triangle pose if you’re bypassing the insides of your own pelvic triangle. This 30 minute lesson takes you directly into the core of the pelvis and magnifies your proprioceptive connection to your hips.

In this Series, called Evolution, Jill goes back to her roots, teaching 16 different one hour classes, breaking down and building into well-known Yoga Poses as the focus of each class. Using Roll Model® balls, other props and novel strength building exercises, Jill strategically sequences to properly prep the body for each pose.
