Core stability, breath ability and dynamic hip/pelvis low back health all rely on the cooperation of your psoas and its fascial connections to the diaphragm. This class will help you identify the interplay of these muscles and improve your deep core strength.

Recognizing the psoas and diaphragm may feel like trying to look at a nocturnal animal in BROAD DAYLIGHT, seemingly impossible. These muscles are hidden from view, and there’s a reason these muscles do their job in deep, obscure cavities. The first half of class subtle and internally focused, respects the deep core’s invisibility cloak. In the latter half you’ll learn tension based practices that result in greater integration of your psoas-diaphragm axis.

This class is best practiced on an empty stomach, at least 2 hours away from food.

After doing the PSOAS & DIAPHRAGM AXIS: AN INNER Core RAPPORT class, we recommend you also do the following class from the Library:

  • Child Pose – Find All the Flexion

This class puts all your inner connections to the test and strengthens your core in all directions in order to master flexing and body coiling.

In each class from MOVE, BREATHE, ROLL – Innovate Series Jill leaves the confines of the ‘rectangle cage’ and brings you into her creative lab where she picks one theme and alchemizes it to help you identify body blind spots. Each class is a whole-body session full of surprises and novel therapeutic approaches that address mobility, pain, strength and soft-tissue recovery. If you’re hungering for something a little different, these sequences will interject some spice into your own practice and spark your own creativity.
